When can i get my cat neuterd?

Answers:
please seek advice of a vet and why you wanna do it is is against nature
after 6 months? ask a damn vet.
Your local vet clinic.
usual office hours
2 months old
The sooner the better--preferably before they hit puberty. You want to get your cat neutered before they start developing some of those more aggresive male tendencies, such as spraying.
6 months old at the earliest, before they go into heat. If he goes into heat, it will cost more to get him fixed due to possible complications.
vetirain clinic
1130 tuesday morning. i'll book you in
as early as the day before it turns 6 months old.
I do know the answer but your cat paid me to keep quiet.
I usually spay/neuter my cats at about four months.
Your cat needs to be 2lbs in weight before he can be neutered.
http://www.washhumane.org/snclinic.asp...
A male cat should be neutered at 5 months. Six at the latest.
There is a theory that neutering too soon can cause urinary complications as the male ages. Five months is a safe and practical age, because it is just before sexual behaviors start kicking in.
at the vets office or u can do it yourself :) jk dont do that got o the vets and say i need to get my cat neuterd now or i will wip out my .50 mm gun and blow your head off! jk jk

%26#92;You need to get neuterd now bc they need to be neutered at 5 months 6 at the lasted!
They are neutering male cats earlier than ever. A good age is 4 to 6 months old. Check with your vet and do what he or she recommends. Some don't do it as early as others. If you are short on cash check out the neuter scooter or the Anti Cruelty Society. Both offer low cost spays and neuters. I just got my cat neutered for $10.00. Had to pay for the distemper shot too but that was only $15.00.
It's best to do it after they are one year old
They generally wait until kittens are about 6 weeks old. Just don't have them declawed.
any time after he is 6 months old most vets can do that for you
Many vets now will neuter and spay young kittens. Check around at local vets. There are 4 around me that will neuter/ spay kittens at 2 lbs or 8 weeks old.
actually it used to be 6 months...5 years ago when i was working in a vet office the vet i worked for did it at 4 months..nowadays theres what they call early age spay/neuter if you can find a vet that will do it. rescues use this to guarantee that pets get spayed or neutered, used to be if you got a shelter pet you signed a contract stating that you would have them done at 6 months if they were younger than that.now the majority of shelters make you get it done before you take them home.heres a website with some info. and btw ive had several animals altered at 6 months, and i have a 10 week old male kitten who is already neutered and his recovery was alot easier
http://www.pet-tails.com/lpmarticle.asp?...
They have to have reached puberty before they can be neutered so for a male cat this is six months at the earliest, it is probably better for the cat if you can hang it out til he is about nine months old, but if he starts displaying tom cat behaviour before this then get it done at six months!
ask a vet
I would say 6 months and older
At around six months old, though some vets will do it earlier. If you call your local RSPCA or Blue Cross, they will tell you, if you don't have a regular vet. If you do, call your vet. If your cat is older than six months, as long as it is not a female in season, she can be spayed, if it is a male, older than six months, anytime. The Blue Cross and I think, the RSPCA will neuter a cat for little or no cost, as it is the responsible thing to do, but if you have a vet, you would be best taking it there so as not to put a strain on the other services. If you are on a low income or benefits, the Blue Cross and RSPCA are happy to help.
you can have it done betwen 5 and 6mths
you can get your cat neutered at 6mths, it is best to do it then, because if you wait until they are older and they experience adult hormones, some of the hormone behavier can stay with them.
if a female cat is born at a certain time of the year , they can have an early season and some vets may neuter them before 6mths, check with your vet! it is not good for them to have a litter so young and any kittens may be unhealthy.
You can get your cat spayed/castrated at the age of 5-5 1/2 months onwards,If it is a female they will be in season on and off until they either get spayed or mated. Some of the behaviour they do is weird they miaow and throw themselves on the floor with their bum in the air.
Any time from the age of four months. Some vets like to wait until six months minimum, but this seems to be a historical bias, not a medical one. Chrck with your vet for their preference.

When can i get money?

I need it
Answers:
Well you should probably look for a job...but if that is not able to happen for whatever reason...then sell clothes and stuff of yours...like a garage sale...
When you work?
Probably when you get a job and earn it. Next question?
When you get off the computer and get a job silly!
what does this have to do with cats? anyway.
okay so first, how old are you?
if you're over 16 yrs old then become a cashier or something. it's easy to get a job over 16.
if you're younger then 16 you can try babysitting, petsitting, doing extra chores, mowing peoples lawns, etc.
when you become a back yard dog breeder and sell stupid mix's of puppies for rediculus money,
or
when you become a hitman and get paid for murder,
or
when you stand on a street corner in tight bright red knee high boots and not much else on,
or
when you get a job.
or
when you get a loan,
or
when you rob a bank,
or
when granny / grandad dies and leaves you millions in inheritance
or
when you win the lottery.
this enough options for you for now?
when you rob a bank?
or
get a job..

When can a kitten go to a new home?

Answers:
I think you can safely send him on his way at eight weeks. He may not be nursing from the mother before that and time spent with siblings is also very important for cat socialization. Ideally it would go to a home that will take TWO kittens if there are any siblings.
Kittens are generally taken from their mothers around 8 weeks of age.
at about 8 weeks of age
the kitten should be atleas 6 weeks of age.
8 weeks is the norm, however breeders of pedigree cats usually keep them 2-3 weeks longer (many breeders clubs have this later date in their code of ethics).
Each kitty's development is unique, but they should never ever leave before 8 weeks.
8 weeks at the earliest. They will be weaned earlier than that, but they need the additional time with the mother to learn things like bathroom habits and how to be a cat. Kittens taken from their mothers earlier than that are prone to litterbox issues as they get older.
8 - 12 weeks of age. The older the better. The better bond they have with there mother the better temperament they will have in the long run.
Totally agree with everyone who said "6-8 weeks".
The mother is responsible for teaching the kittens LOTS of things before that period.
We had a kitten that we had to adopt at 4 weeks due to the death of the mother. She was a good cat and lived to be 9 years old. But, during her life, she had more behavioral problems than any other cat we'd ever had (separation anxiety, litter box problems, etc.)
I will always believe that this was because she did not have her mother for a couple more weeks..to teach her some of the most important skills.

When can a female cat be neutered after having kittens?

The vet says after she stop lactating , is this a medical reason or does she stop lactating after being neutered- hence no food for the kittens unless they have been weined?
Answers:
Yep, both male and female animals are neutered, but the specific terms are castration for males and spaying for females (not spadeing as so many people seem to think!). The correct terminology for female neutering operations should be ovariohysterectomy or ovariectomy depending on what is performed. (Almost always ovariohysterectomy in the UK).
The short answer is as soon as the kittens stop feeding. It is best to try and wait until the milk has dried up however for the reasons mentioned in other posts. Queens unlike b!tches do not continue to lactate indefinately if spayed when lactating though.
Basically, whatever your vet recommends is gonna be the best option. If you are concerned about her getting pregnant again, separate her from entire male cats %26 stop her from going outside until she has been operated on.
I was just going to ask a simular question thank you
Obviously the kittens need to be weaned first, then the cat will stop lactating and can be spayed.
You don't want to do anything while she's nursing. It will have an impact on the kittens. Wait until she's not nursing them any more. That's what I did.
i would ask a vet for sure but after the kittens were leaned
female cats can never be neutered! They are spayed. ask your local vet. Give them a call. I would trust a vets advice much more than anyone on here!
She needs to have stopped lactating because while she is producing milk there is a lot of soft tissue with a greatly increased blood supply so the risks of excessive bleeding from cutting her open are considered too high, even with a flank incision. Also because she will have a sore wound and the last thing she needs is to have kittens scrabbling over it. It could stop her from feeding them.
Wait until at least 8 weeks after the birth. If she is indoors you can wait until 13 weeks when the kittens are fully vaccinated and old enough to be able to go to new homes. This is the ideal and best for the kittens.
After that make sure everyone is neutered!
Hello there
I had this trouble with my cat we didnt get her spayed in time and had 4 babies! hehe bless well with mum cats they are very clever do not interfere after about 6 week the kitten should be eating food you put out for them, weaning is done with you and mother in partnership to help her kittens need their mothers milk its better then anything you can give its not for the mum cat spayed will do nothing to her really it the kittens need the food so its perfectly safe to have your cat spayed after kitten weined
if you did it any time before the kittens were weined then they would be without milk for atleast 2-3 days while the mother healed it is best to wait like the vet said
When her milk ihas dried up about 6-8 weeks after kittening
When the kittens are weaned -- six to eight weeks. Thank you for being so responsible!
when the kittens are 8 weeks old
my queen was fixed 10 days after kittening due to the fact she was still bleeding and had an existing medical condition which was best delt with this way my vets normally say about 8 to 10 weeks.

When are you cat people gonna get it? What's it gonna take?

When are kittens ready to be adopted?

My mom's cat had kittens about 6-7 weels ago. She is begining to wean them. I heard that if you seperate kitten too early that they will go through seperation anxiety. Is this true? If it is when should we put them up for adoption?
Answers:
It is true that kittens seperated too early from their mother and litter mates can develope behavior problems. They learn very important lessons from their mother at this time. The earliest they can be adopted is 8 weeks, but many, my vet included, believe it is better to wait until they are between 10-12 weeks.
Kittens learn most things about life and how to behave in their first 16 weeks of life. During this time it is important they be socalized and exposed to common things they may run into in their new home. This includes small children (supervised), dogs, loud noises, a crate, the vet, car rides, everything.
I would start looking for homes now, but do not let the new owners take the kittens until 8-12 weeks old.
Yes, it's true; I'd adopt the kittens no earlier than 10 to 12 weeks, depending on their size. By that time, they'll be fully weaned, and will have mastered the litter box, so that prospective owners won't have to contend with that, but still cute ;-)
The pet stores normally take kittens at about 8 weeks. I still think that is too young. I would wait until they are 10 weeks. People can come and look at the kitties, and you can put tiny collars on the ones that are spoken for. I just think it's better to wait. Go get momma spayed!
earliest 8 weeks, preferably 12 weeks
well we got our kittens when they were around 7 wk old BUT i think thts the minimum age they can be adopted x
You could put them up for adoption right now, but say that they can't take them until they're 8-weeks-old, if that's when you feel it's safe.
The time that kittens are usually adopted out is generally around the 6 to 8 weeks mark.
I got my kittens when they were 6-weeks-old and they never experienced any seperation anxiety, maybe it's because I took both the brother and the sister. They just adopted me as their new mommy.
Edited to say: Before anyone says anything mean about my kittens only being six-weeks-old, they were weaned already and they were using the litterbox. They were big enough to be taken away already, though I gave though I gave them milk substitute for a little while after.
Wait untill they dont need their mother anymore, then put them up for adoption ((or just keep them!))
Not separation anxiety. They need the socialization with the litter. Did the mom get tested?
At 2 lbs they can be spayed/neutered and "adopted"
Let mom wean them herself as she sees fitm nature does know best - they should be adopted out when alll their shots have been done at 8, 10 and 12 weeks. If they haven;t had them there can be problems.
When I got my kitten, there was another kitten with a huge suckling problem. hat's just one possible problem from seperating them too young from mom and it will never go away, it was a cute kitten but I am not up for dealing with that as I know there will be other problems too.
Seperation anxiety is a falacy about kittens. Felines are the most adaptable creatures on four legs. 8 weeks is the best time as by then they will have , or should have, been given the first shots and wormed. At this age they lose the natural immunity that the mothers milk has and should be taken to the vet for the regular shots and worming.
Cats can also get heart worm. Is your cat an outdoor cat?
Please consider spaying the mother too. cats have become the # one killer of the natural habitat of squirrels, snakes, rats, mice, and any thing that crawls or moves. They devastate the environment of the natural eco-system.
Wait until ther 9-12 wks. Yes some go through seperation anxiaty. so wait till there at least 9 wks! Good LucK!

When and how can I move newborn kittens?

My cat just gave birth behind our entertainment center. I made a place for her, but I miscalculated when she was do. She didn't have time to nest there. How long should I wait before moving mommy and babies? They are difficult to get to and I'm afraid of moving them separately. Does anyone have any suggestions
Answers:
You can move them anytime.
Jeez, I have worked as a Vet Tech at a cat shelter for YEARS and you CAN move them right away! For sanitary reasons, we move them to a clean area right after birth!!
No need to wait FOUR DAYS!!!!!!!!!
Well i asked the vet about mine i was in the same sittuation he said it would not hurt them as long as they were 4 days old
You might want to just leave them there. Chances are the mom would move them back anyway. It's where the mom feels most comfortable; that's why she had the babies there. But being behind a center like that with cords and outlets and such sticking out, it might be a good idea to move them. Just gently pick one up at a time and hold with 2 hands close to you. Do you have a room they can stay in by themselves? That would be the best. The mother might hiss at you when you go to touch them. Just gently and quietly move each one then get the mama out and put her in the room with them. She should go right to them. If not right away, then help the mom lay down on her side and put each kitten up to her nipples.
Good luck!
You can move them now. Just be gentle. But the mother will probably move them right back to where she had them. And if you keep moving them she will find another place to hide them. My cat did that. It was a pain, but I finally got her to stay in the box I had fixed for her.
You can move them, but you dont have to. Mom will probably keep them clean enough. When a stray we took in had kittens, I did change her towels, but she was on top of it. As soon as she saw the new towel and laid it on the ground, she moved her babies over to that one. Try getting a large cat carrier and luring mom in there, she'll take the kittens for you.
they can be moved anytime..mother cat wants a dark place for them, thus the reason she had them behind the entertainment center. Kittens develop eye infections if they are exposed to bright lights before and during the eye opening time..usually about 10 days old. Enjoy them.
leave the kittens there for a bit an dput the mother cat in the area you wnat them in and she might notice it is cleaner and stuff and move the kittens herself if she doesn't then just move them the mother might get mad but if she knows you and trusts you then she won't mind ok!
Move them whenever you want, but mom may reject them if she's new to it - you don't have to have worked at a vet to know that.

When adopting a shelter cat, is male or female better?

Of course it will be neutered/spayed so other than those obvious problems, what is the overall difference when deciding? We have two small children and a goldfish.
Answers:
Hi
I am always proud to write to someone who is saving a life.
To be honest, there is no difference and you never know what you will get as cats personalities so vary. The cat I felt the most closest too was female, not a lap cat and kissed me
only a few times a year yet we couldn't have been any closer. I had a male that when I patted my chest would jump on my lap and start kissing me all over. You just never know
Boy or girl can be shitzy, very friendly, aggressive ect. With love kindness and patience in the house, whichever you choose will be the right one.
It really depends on the cat.
In my experience, the males generally tend to be more loving than the females but there are always exceptions.
The females are the hunters. Males hunt but not like the females do.
I have 2 females and they are sweet. Neither of them are lap cats but they like to be petted and for the most part are gentle.
It's important the kids respect the cat. Some cats are sneaky so you may have to take care of the goldfish. Cover its house.
get a girl (baby)and raise it to not scratch or attack the fish
i would get a girl, because the males piss allover the place lol
i think girls are better because they dont spray
I really prefer male cats...but they do spray..and having them fixed doesn't always stop that problem. But I have found that males make the best pets.
I personally prefer to adopt already spayed FEMALE cats (adults)
if you have 2 small kids you might think a kitten is a cute idea.. but kittens are very claw agressive and kids can really hurt them.. I would suggest getting a more sedate adult - go to the shelter and hold the ones you think are your main choices - pick the one that is most "holdable"
move the gold fish out of the cats sight.
( I prefer females ONLY becuase there is a very slight chance of males, even fixed ones, spraying)
well, sometimes males can be more aggressive, but not all of them. it really depends on the kitty's personality. but i kno one thing for sure, hide your goldfish somewhere the cat cant reach!! my kitty knocked down my whole fish tank and all my fish were dead by the time i came back
i think they both are as nice as each other ...
i have a 11 month old tabby male which have had since a kitten and we have fish and he hasnt once bothered with them
and we also have a siamese female which i have now had a week and she is very very lazy and hasnt bothered with fish or birds

so i woudl advise getting either a young kitten doesnt matter which sex or a older cat around 4 ish plus ... just make sure u get cat with nice temprement for the children
and rember kittens do scratch when little so maybe not the best idea with children
I think female cats are laid back .
male cats have more energy. When picking one from a litter, pick the kitten that comes to you.. Mail or Female doesn't matter. Letting the kitten pick you is always best.Best of luck...
Ultimately it depends on the individual cat. A laid-back adult who tolerates the kids and has the personality you're looking for is probably going to be your best bet. A cat who was raised with kids would be a big plus. Tell the shelter what you're looking for and they may be able to match you up with a fitting cat.
As a generalization, females tend to be a little more aloof and pet-me-on-my-terms while males are usually a bit more laid-back. Any cat - be it intact male, neutered male, intact female, or spayed female - has the physiological ability to spray. Spayed females and neutered males have roughly the same incidence of spraying - when cats are 'fixed' it really boils down to is how territorial the individual cat is.
both sexes make great pets, both (even though "fixed") will 1 - 2 times "mark" their territory (i have owned cats since a child and have never had a cat yet who hasn't initially marked its territory).
The best way to decide on a cat from a shelter is to ask how friendly the cats are, do you just want a loving friendly cat or a lap cat (they are completely different).
I wouldn't get one that's too young either as they tend to be more scatty (very funny but painful if they choose to shinny up your naked legs)
Children have to have boundaries and know (be told) what is and isn't acceptable behaviour to a cat (no continual pulling about as it won't appreciate it), please don't expect to get a cat and it just settle immediately with the kids. Its taken a long time to settle our last rescue cat into the house and for him to accept my son. The cat used to swipe him whenever he went near.
With time the kids and cat will learn to love each other but you will need to monitor how they handle the cat
As for your fish, just ensure a good fit on the lid (my fish were never been bothered by my cats, when i had fish that is)
Well done on re-homing a needy animal, a star for you
it really just depends on the individual cat's personality, and it can be hard to get an idea of a cat's personality just from visiting it at the shelter. i adopted one female and one male from the same shelter and the female is laid back, fat, and lazy. :) the male is small and hyper and annoying (in a cute way).
I would get a female I dont really like the males. we have always had females and they're so sweet
I have two cats that I got at the shelter, they both turned one in May. We got the male when he was very young and just a little kitten, and we got a female in April. They are both great cats. I haven't had any problems with either one of them using anything but the litter box, as long as it is clean. I've had good luck with both of them and wouldn't have a preference over the male or female, except for my wife picked out he male and I got to choose the female. But that was just because they were the cats we were drawn too.
Also, neither one of them has messed with my goldfish. It sits in a small cover tank on my kitchen counter and we've trained them to stay off the counter.
In my experience, male cats are usually friendlier and more affectionate, but really, it depends on the individual cat. When you go to the shelter, if you see a cat you like, try playing with it, and see how it reacts to the kids.
Every cay has a different personality and show different levels of affection. Also, their attitudes can change as they get older. I once had a cat (a female) who was incredibly nasty when she was young. When she became middle aged, she became loving, but only to my family. When she got old (she lived to be 20), she showed affection to everybody who visited our house!
As for spraying, yes - male cats can do that, but neutering usually fixes the problem. Female cats can be known to mark their territory as well.
I would recommend going into the shelter with an open mind. I've learned that looking for a particular kind of cat never works! The right cat will pick YOU, not vice verse :)
Good luck, and congrats on becoming a cat person!!
The answer depends on the breed - even those you think are mixed moggies. Mackeral coloured cats are very talkative and like company, (male and female). Black and white are more solitary and like hunting - lots of 'unwanted' dead gifts will be brought to you. Black can be shy and very adoring to a single person. If you get the chance to choose, let the cat choose you rather than the other way around.

When a tom cat reaches puberty, does his voice break?

Yesterday my 6 month old tom cat's miouw suddenly deepened into a growl and he is still growling instead of mewing today. He isnt in a bad mood. Has his voice broken or is he just hoarse or does he have a sore throat or something? He's had all his vaccinations and is eating well so I dont think he's caught any virus.
Answers:
Male cats do have a deeper growly call when they're in the mood for love! Even female cats can have a startling raucous cry when in season - especially siamese. If your cat is eating and drinking normally I don't think you need to worry - but bear in mind that there are lots of good reasons to have tomcats neutered - as you will realise if he scent marks your house!
Are you sure its a cat and not a Tiger you have there dude..
sorry man the cat is fuggucked.
As a cat matures its voice does change from a high kittenish squeak to a lower miaow. But this is gradual and not as dramatic or distinct as in a human.
A growl is a different form of vocalisation from a miaow. If you cat normall greets you with a friendly and communicative miaow but is not growling then he is either scared or in pain and needs to be seen by a vet.
I totally think he's entered puberty and you may want to watch out for him getting interested in girl cats..classic sign of cat puberty..
Sounds funny but their meows do deepen when they go through puberty but it generally happens gradually rather than a instant change.
He may have a sore throat or furball if he is coughing or sneezing contact your vet otherwise i wouldnt worry to much
if he's six months old fix him immediately. Otherwise he will begin spraying (marking his territory) and once he's begun the habit, neutering may not even stop him. But if he's neutered before he begins that habit, then it's almost a 100% guarantee that he won't spray.
Trust me on this. I see a dozen people a day asking how to stop their male cat from spraying, and I just have to shake my head and think "you can't"

When a Siamese cat comes into heat, why does she pee on my bed??

Answers:
You'd have to get rid of the bed cuz you'll never get the foul smell out of the mattress ...
Our cat does the same thing when shes in heat ... Pees on anything that is left on the floor ...
I plan to get her fixed ... Thats what the vet says its best to get her fixed so she doesn't pee on anywhere she wants to ...
I hope someone else has a better answers!
Becouse shes in heat! You should get her spayed! Gd Lk!
well she may have a bladder control problem. Many cats pee when they are excited or happy. Most cats enjoy sun and many cats enjoy comfortable furniture to sleep on. this may cause her to let it out and pee on the spot. my cat had the same problem. Good luck!
She is marking her territory and since I think that she probably sleeps on you bed she sees it as a a great place to mate and have kittens. Her urine has excretions that attract tom cats and tell them that she is on heat and ready to mate. So the only snawer to this is to ban her from your bed - or get her neutered!!
Why don't you get the poor thing spayed, so you don't have to worry about it?
because he thinks you're an idiot.
well if shes done it once shell do it again.
thats what cats do.
get her spayed and if you dont get the smell out with something very strong like bleach or something shell do it again

When a female cat is in heat how many times does she need to have sex before she stops??

Answers:
www.purebredcatrescue.org
www.petfinder.org (search for siamese)
There are already tons of siamese cats who need homes. Be a responsible pet owner and have your cat spayed. If you really want another siamese, there are plenty to adopt.
It doesnt matter, she will stop when her heat is over, meaning in 2-4 days.
Usually 3 or 4 times. My female cat is in heat and she's driving us NUTS!
she'll stop if you get her speyed.
You do NOT want a pregnant cat. If you let your cat get pregnant, you have just killed several kittens or cats waiting to find homes at shelters.
Just grit your teeth and bear the annoyance of her being in heat this time, then fix her as soon as she's not in heat anymore.
It has nothing to do with the amount of times she's mated. This is why kittens or puppies can have many different Fathers. It has to do with the length of the heat cycle. Have her spayed.
You can have her spayed while in heat, although the cost will be greater.
She only needs one time to get pregnant. There are so many unwanted kitties out there all ready. She doesn't need to have sex she needs to be fixed, plain and simple.
having sex is not what stops her from being in heat.
It's the same as an adult woman's period. It's a cycle that must last a specific amount of time and that varies from one woman to another and from one cat to another.
The best way to stop her heat is to get her spayed. It's better for her health to have her spayed. It's part of being a responsible pet owner. Once you do that, she won't go into heat and you won't have to worry about it.
If you think you can't afford the surgery, find out when they do a clinic in your area, as they do it really cheap at the clinics to help you out financially. Other people donate money to help pay the cost of the neutering of the animals.
Why do you care?
do the proper thing and get her spayed.
Wow. You're more concerned with stopping her behavior than with the risk of kittens? Please rethink this; read the posts above, and be a responsible pet owner!!
It has nothing to do with how many times and everything to do with length of time of her heat cycle.
If a human was ovulating, they don't stop or start ovulating because they have sex a ton of times, it's part of their bodies cycle.
The way animals are designed, ideally they have sex as many times as is physcially possible while in heat for maximum results in keeping the species going. ;-)
I have a female siamese currently in heat. I would love to breed her but just recently decided not too. Can't get her fixed for another month or so.
Anyway sorry I don't really know the answer just wanted you to know I share the misery of a siamese in heat. Nasty, noisy little things.
Good luck on getting your litter of kittens. If your male can't impregnate anymore, look around for signs for siamese kittens for sale. Someone might have a male you can take your girl to. One breeder in my area wanted $400 once the pregnancy was confirmed tho. But the kittens do go for quite a pretty penny.
All cats are different.. I finally took mine is and got her fixed cuz she was going into heat every other week.As for how many times they can have sex before stopping there heat,no clue really i thought they got pregnant the 1st time.

When a female cat goes into heat-- can anyone tell me how long she will remain in heat? weeks or days?

The cat will go into heat every 2 to 3 weeks as long as long as shes not spayed. Do her and yourself a favor and take her to the vet.
she can be in heat for a week and can go into heat every 2 weeks. good grief get her fixed! nothing worse than the moaning and crying...i am soooo not kidding!!
she wouldn't go into heat at all if you got her spayed. please be a responsible pet owner.
my friend always find cats that are in heat, they usually stop getting heat once they have babies
You will know she is in heat, by the tall boots and trashy collar. She will also wear some cheap purfume that makes her smell like a french whore.
P
I don't know how long. But I think you should spay her so she will not be in heat.
have the cat fixed it works like a charm
If the noises annoy you, and it wants to mate with you, you can practice, what's the right word, stimulate, err a, give it fake sex. I read on the internet that simulating a penis with a q-tip works. Just wear gloves before you do the nasty, because the cat might bite you if its overaroused.
Anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks

When a cat is going to die..?

Do they know? My cat was very old and I believe that something like another animal had gotten a hold of her and hurt her because the other day she came up to me with a big sore on her shoulder, I was going to take her to the vet on my day off but she never showed back up. the other day when I saw she was hurt she loved on me and was SOOO sweet and followed me around all day..and that was the last time I saw her.do you think she knew she was going to die and was saying goodbye?!.I miss my kitty her name was Jane.
Answers:
My 19 year old cat hand cancer that was spreading fast in his rear leg. He gave me love like this then went and hid from me (he was an indoor at this time but had lived in the country as well for the first 15 years of his life). He had NEVER hid from me before as we were very close. I took this as a sign that he was ready to go and I did the decent thing of putting him down, though it was very hard. I knew he was ready because whenever I would find his hiding place, he would go find another.
Your kitty probably knew, or depending on how long its been, she could have ran off to die or heal. I've heard of cats dissappearing for weeks, then coming home. I know its tough and will be until when/if you find her so I wish you the best.
I m really sorry a bout what happend.hope you find her!
Have you tried looking for her? I know my cat comes to me if I say kitty kitty like over and over. Or leave out something that it likes to eat or play with outside when your not home and see if anything happens to the food or a toy.
Why did you let her roam outside? I don't know if they realize that they will die soon, but perhaps she was just acting friendly. All cats get in that mode sometimes. I hope you find her. And when you do, try to keep her indoors. Indoor cats live much longer.
Cats are very receptive to what is going on around them. I had a childhood cat that passed away when I was about 13. The vet said, before she died, that Mrs. Higgins (my cat) would probably find somewhere very isolated and quiet to pass time until she passed. She did exactly that, she found a way up into the attic. We found a few days later. I believe that they do know and prepare for death the same way that we would.
I think cats can have a 6th sense about things like death. She may well have been saying 'good bye' to you. But on the other hand she may still be around, so continue looking %26 calling.
I'm soooo sorry that ur cat passed away i think that she knew that something was wrong and she wanted to stay next to u because u r the one she wanted to spend her last minutes with
perhaps she was loving on you and following you around because she was hurt and wanted you to help her.
When you didn't, some predator got her in her weakened state.
I believe animals know when they are going to die. My cat, Faygo, died Monday morning after being sick for awhile. For about 2 weeks before he died he would lay on my bed on my pillow and sleep with me. When I came home Sunday night I knew his time was near. I spent most of the evening laying with him, loving him, petting him, and telling him what a good cat he was. Around 3:00 my pug came and started licking my face and running up and down my bed. I noticed Faygo wasn't bedside me anymore. I looked down and he was on the floor. I picked him up and held him. He meowed a few times and then died. It was so odd. My dog and my other 3 cats were all there when he died. They all knew. I was just so glad I got to hold him and comfort him before he went. He was such a special little kitty.
Cat has nine lives.Do not worry.Maybe some kind souls pick it %26 tend to the wound.

When a cat flattens its ears on its head... (see details for full question please) ?

Whenever I speak to my cat, 90% of the time she holds her ears back, pressed almost flat against her head. 75% of the time when you just look at her, she'll do this. Some other times she will, too. She's about 10 months old now and I've had her since she was 10 weeks.
Now, I'm pretty sure that cats flatten their ears when they're scared, but I don't see how this is the case with my cat. She's doing is constantly. I don't know if she's excited that you're speaking to her or looking at her or what, but I'm concerned. I hope she's not getting scared over every little thing. So, do you think when she flattens her ears she's afraid (like most cats when they do that), or something else, and if so, what?
Answers:
I think it's just trying to listen. My cat does this when I call his name and then he'll come next to me and meow so I can play with him.
You shouldn't be concerned :)
Well i dont have much experience in this but your cat might be too sensitive cus i have a kittten and like you said it only does that when she's scared so i cant see how ur cat does that maybe u need to lwoer ur voice a little bit lol joking
maybe you should stop abusing your cat..
Usually, the closer the ears are to the head, the more pissed off the cat is. It could be she's aggressive, it could be she's in heat and cranky if not fixed... she may be annoyed that you don't leave her alone (female cats sometimes just are not friendly when they grow up).
I always thought they did that when they were mad. Have you thought about getting her checked out by the vet? Maybe she is sick. Cats will not act right if they're sick.
There are many cat psychiatrists who are willing to talk about it. (I'm almost certain a human psychologist would even do it for an ongoing monthly fee. You wouldn't have to pay forever as cats only have 9 lives {i.e. 10 years x 7 = 70 x 9.....hmmmm, maybe I was wrong}.
Otherwise, you could have an up-and-coming serial attacker. Keep one eye open when you sleep, until the cat has completed it's psychiatric evaluation.
Be careful as this can also be a sign of aggression. You might try letting her get hungry and holding the food and having her come to you to get the food. Make sure if you try this though you let her come to you at her own pace. Don't reach towards her as it might intimidate her. This is a way to build trust between the two of you. I have a friend that has 5 cats. 4 of them are really friendly and one has always been like yours. We found her when she was only about 5 wks old but she had been thrown from a car. Evne though we nursed her back to health taking care of a broken hip and dehydration she has never been a people cat.
Its possible she doesn't like the sound of your voice. Try talking in a lower, softer tone. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be insulting your voice or anything.
Cats will flatten their ears down on their heads for a few different reasons. Yes , when they are alarmed and unsure about any given situation but they will also do this when in readiness to pounce (in playing, fighting, or just being silly) and acting like a nut chasing their imaginary friends up the wall or something. But on the darker side of the reason why, is that they could have ear mites or an ear infection. I would check your babies ears first before u chalk it up to just her being a silly cat. If she has a lot of black kinda gooey stuff inside her ears and when u touch them or mess with them all she wants to do is scratch the heck out of her ear , she probably has them.If this is the case , u can buy ear mite medicine in just about any grocery store in the pet isle or for sure in a pet store. If she doesnt have a problem with her ears , I wouldnt worry about it too much. She will grow out of it probably. Just talk to her in a cheery upbeat way when u explain to her that everything is just fine and you would never let anything bad ever happen to her. And how much u love her . U know - - - that reassurance thing. lol. Nothing a lot of love wouldn't handle.
you have bad breath thats why stinky jaw
It's hard to say what she's doing. If she seems otherwise healthy this may be a habit. She could also have some hearing problems and is concentrating to hear what you're saying. My cats seem to rotate their ears when I'm talking to them and sometimes pull the front part of the ear backward as if they're thinking, "What??". My son said the cat had "motorcycle ears" because he said they looked like the handlebars of a motorcycle.
If your cat was angry, you'd know it because rarely will the flattened ears be the only sign of anger. There's also growling and hissing and "chewing". When a cat is afraid, they usually run and hide or cower. So if you're concerned about your cat, a trip to the vet is in order. Any time you think your pet is acting strange, that's the best course of action. I hope your cat is just thinking "What??" because he can't understand you.
I've never seen a cat flatten BOTH ears when listening, unless the cat is afraid or angry. The cats I have had (including the one sitting next to me now) tilt one ear slightly when listening to me or if they hear me call.
Maybe your cat might be intimidated if you are too close to her face when talking to her.

Whats wrong with my mums cat?

He's a 7 year old ginger tom, and over the past few days he's been appearing confused. He keeps walking round in circles, dazed and confused. He stops inthe road, and neighbours have complained he's been in front of there car and they've nearly run him over. Luckly she only lives on a quiet cul de sac, but he could still get hurt. She is going to take him to the vet if he doesnt get better, but she cant really afford it, so i said i'd look on here for advice first. Can anyone help?
Answers:
cat migraines
he fuckin dum
Take him already or right
I would run to the vet as soon as possible. It is possible this cat has rabies or has contracted a serious neural disease.
It could be an inner ear infection, or a brain tumour.
My cat did the circling in his last days. He had a tumour.
perhaps hes been hit by a car , if she gets her council tax paid for her she can get one pet registered with the PDSA and avoid having to pay vet bills,
good luck
sounds like a stroke, they're rare but I believe a symptom is walking in circles.
your wrong with your mums cat
No sorry I can't help. But I know someone who can...A Vet. I suggest you take your mums cat to one!
maybe hes losing his sight...
bring him inside until you can get him to a vet, so he doesn't hurt himself...i hate to say this but my 14 year old cat started doing that exact same thing, and turns out he had a brain tumor...we had to put him to sleep
Could be an illness causing neurological issues
Could be the cat has been hit, has a head injury.
Either way, she needs to spend some money, if nothing else, to have the vet SEE the cat.
my siamese did that and she was five years old. i gave her more attention and she did get better. it might be that his vision is blurry because of his age. i am sorry that i couldn't be of much help. good luck with your cat. ~
It's time for a trip to the vet's. Could be some sort of toxic plant or other sustance has been ingested. Could be vision or hearing. KEEP CAT INDOORS.
Could also be neurological (head trauma or illness) so vet's is really a must. But please, please don't let him out. Check his hearing %26 vision.
Maybe he's had a stroke and it caused brain damage. Here's an idea: don't let him outside and make sure he can't get out. See a vet about it; it could either be bad or get bad.
This sounds like what happened to my cat last year. When I took her to the vet it turned out to be a spider bite that infected her blood stream. Your going to have to go to the vet a.s.a.p! If money is a concern call around to different vets and see if they can arrange a payment plan. If that does not work call up your local ASPCA and ask if they can help, if not they would know who to call in ypur area.
Whatever the cause it sounds like he needs a Vets help...I KNOW it can be expensive but this could be something that can be helped if you take him NOW but not if you procrastinate. Good luck and I hope it turns out to be something very simple.
My cat went like that, and the vet told us she had 'mad cow disease'.
We have never fed our cat tinned cat food that contained beef eversince.
This may sound like a wind-up, but I promise you this is the utter truth. It was quite upsetting : (
He may have been hit by a car, and is suffering from concussion. He needs to see a vet
lol
It could be anything he needs the vet to check him over
Hi Michelle, i don't think its anything very serious, it sounds as if your Mum's cat has an ear infection! Any ear imbalance in cats will cause them to walk in one direction ( usually circles! ) get your Mum to firstly smell the cats ears, first the left one, then the right. if theres an infection there she'll be able to smell it, horrible i know but its the best way to tell, sorry. If one of the ears does smell, you'll know its that ear thats infected. Check the other one just in case though. Get your Mum to then look into the ear if the cat will let her although it probably won't because it might be painful. if the cat does allow it, shine a torch into the ear canal and see if there is anything obvious there like redness, discharge etc. if there is the cat will definitely need antibiotics to clear it up. You haven't stated your Mum's age but if she's in receipt of benefits the RSPCA / Blue Cross / PDSA will treat the cat for a minimal fee. If when your Mum looks into the ears and can't see anything obvious but there is a slight smell, try clearing some of the black wax away with an ear bud ( DO NOT poke the ear bud inside the ear canal, you will cause terrible damage! ). When you've cleared as much as you can, tilt the cats head to one side and pour a little olive oil ( not the cooking type, the one you get from a chemist for medicinal purposes ) into the ear and massage the bottom of the ear outside of its head. This will dislodge any grass seeds or other debris from the ear and cause it too drip out. Its messy and will make its coat and anything it comes into contact with very oily but this can be cleared up with a drop of neat Fairy Liquid! If, and its a big if, the cats ears are clear, he's got toothache! That certainly cannot be treated at home and so will need a vet. Good Luck .
Your mums cat could be going deaf or might be losing his sight. I'm not an expert though, so please bring him to a vet before he gets hurt!
The best thing to do is to take him to the vets as he could have something major wrong with him.
Hope this helps
I have just had my ginger tom put to sleep, having the same symptoms as yours. He had Altziemers Disease. I couldn't beleive it when the vet told me, but animals can get this, the same as humans. My cat was 14 years old, and it was heartbreaking to have to lose him, but on the Vet's advise I had to do it.
Could be high blood pressure, this can cause blindness in cats. Must go to vets urgently

Whats wrong with my kitty?

His right eye is red on the outer surroundings, and he occasionaly itches it. He sometimes squints too. This usually happenes like 1 a month. Is it bad? And he is crying more lately, does he need more attention. He is eating all of his food and seems fine except for the eye and crying.
Answers:
I've asked the same question here just a couple of days ago and we were in the vet today with my cat. She had the same symptoms just like your cat has.Pink tearful eyes..It turned out that she has a cold. She has given us antibiotics which is called "Clavamox" and 15 dollars only.It has already started working. It won't go away without using medicine. And besides it is much more serious than you can imagine especially for a kitten.
it could just be allergies, my dog gets that way
He probably has an eye infection, poor Little guy, you need to get him to the vet.
you need to have a vet look at the eye.
you should go to your vet just in case but he most likely has allergies though
he has a symptom, u need to get him to the vet
his eye is probably irritated and it wouldn't hurt if u gave him more attention, just try and see if he stops crying. u should consult his vet and tell the vet whats wrong the eye and the crying.
could be allergies or maybe he got into something.. btu if it happens over and over id say he is getting into sumthing he is allergic to... take him to a vet.. if its something that isnt cured and happens over and over then it couldget really bad
Take the kitty to the vet. The longer you wait the more expensive the bill.
could be conjunctivitis, which is an infection. but since it happens every month... the first person who said allergies might be more right than i am. if he cries, give him attention and play with him.

Whats wrong with my kitten? She's about 12 weeks old, a stray that we adopted.?

She had been the life of the party. Acting like a normal cat, maybe a little more evil than most. =) I came home from work today and she had gotten sick, nothing strange about the mess. Now its like she's in slow motion. She doesn't meow, or wanna play. She still follows me around and wants to be loved all the time but her zip is gone. She eats and drinks, and uses the bathroom. I can't figure out what is wrong with her. She won't clean herself either. Today is the first day this has happened. Do cats get sick like humans, where she will get better in a few days? I dunno, but I'm worried. She's my baby, she's my kismet. Yep, thats her name. I sure would appreciate some advice, plz . . .
Answers:
First, did you have her to the vet yet? Cats that are stray can harbor illnesses and not show any symptoms until they are really sick. She needs to be vaccinated and wormed asap.
Could she have gotten into anything that could be harmful, maybe a chemical or a house plant?
I would recommend getting her into a vet right away. Take a stool sample with you that is no more than a few hours old. They will want to check it under the microscope to see if she has any parasites.
Do not feed her for 8 hours. Only give her fresh water. This will allow her stomach to rest. After that time, boil a small amount of chicken and rice for her to eat. This is bland and easier on them. Just like humans, after you get sick, you don't feel up to par and are not very active.
Have you given her any hairball remedy since adopting her? Since she is not grooming herself, she may have a hairball that needs to work itself out. Rub about a half inch of the stuff on her paw. She will instinctively clean it off and get it into her system. This will help her pass anything that may be a minor blockage. I would recommend brushing her several times a week, especially during warmer weather and giving her the hairball remedy twice a week as a future preventative.
Do you have a vet already? If yes, then call them. Most vets have an emergency number. Even if they can't see her tonight, they may offer you some additional advice.
Watch her closely until you can get her in. If she woud seem to get worse, take her in immediately.
Be sure she is drinking water. You can do a quick check for dehydration by pinching up the scruff of her neck. It should go back into place quickly. If it doesn't and kinda stays up, she is most likely dehydrated. That is a good sign of illness in a cat or dog. It is also very dangerous.
So, closely monitor her. Keep her inside. Cats are notorious for trying to escape to hide when they are sick. Collect a fresh stool sample and keep it refridgerated until the vet appointment. Try to keep her calm and comfortable so she doesn't get stressed out.
I hope this helps you and her out. I commend you for taking in a stray. I just hope you will follow through and get her the proper care. Prevention, such as shots, a fecal test and simple bloodwork are much less expensive than emergency treatment.
I would also recommend having her spayed asap since she is already old enogh for the procedure but will need her shots before having it done. This will keep her from wanting to escape as much and will also prevent any unneeded litters.
Try the vet!!!!
鈾?
I'd call the vet and get her in for a checkup - it could be a birth defect or some virus she got when she was in contact with other cats and kittens. Many times, early detection is the difference between life and death in cats and kittens.
(it could be nothing too - she might have eaten something bad or something, but bettter safe than sorry)
my cat has done that before and it was like a kitty cold, we took him to the vet and he was fine but i would go to the vet just to be sure plus mine was a 3 year old boy.
Please take her to the vet, it sounds like she might have eaten something that poisoned her. Do you take any meds that might have fallen on the floor? Do you have any houseplants? Many houseplants and cut flowers are poisonous to cats. Since she is a stray, have you taken her to the vet for her first check up yet? If so, was she specifically tested for feline leukemia and feline aids? I hope you get her in soon and figure out what's going on.good luck.
Is she up to date on her shots? Does she have runny eyes?
Has she swallowed string, rubber band, etc.?
She is following you around because she wants your help %26 reassurance...she sees you as her mom.
At three months old, that's pretty scary...esp. if she hasn't had her shots.
She really needs to be seen by a vet.
I wouldn't count on her getting better in a few days, the sooner you see a vet the better, as it's always better to catch illness before the cat becomes too worn down from it.
Take her to the vet. It could be a number of things, some serious, some not. Best of luck.
First of all I would take her to the vet. They can help with any problem. OK best wishes to you and your cat...
If she is up to date on her shots, ie now at 12 weeks is her last round, there should not be much to worry about.
You should take her to the vet.
Get her to a vet. She sounds like she is sick; maybe some kind of internal parasite or infection. Worms maybe? Please get her treated. That isn't normal.
Firstly cats do get sick sometimes. It is strange that she still eats but has no energy to do her usual things. You could wait and see how she goes as she is eating and drinking still. A good idea is to call the vet and speak to someone there. The nurse at my vet always gives me great advise on what I can do at home and then suggests that if that doesn't work to bring her in to see the vet. It's just a quick phone call but it could help your kitten and put your mind at rest.
take her to a vet as soon as possible has she had her distemper shots my cat acted the same way except she had diareha and she died within a week!!

Whats wrong with my kitten?

Hi all. I have 2 kittens a male and a female and they are very friendly toward each other. They are now 4 months older (Snook, the male just turned 4 months today :D) he loves me, loves when I pet him to play with me, etc. My problem is with Rtia the female. She was the first to come to me and be more at ease at home, she used to love to come to my lap and receive my love. Never hurt them, always treated them right and with respect, they are like my family, I live alone. And suddenly one day she stoped accepting my petting and always runs away, she lets me pick her up, but gets cranky after a short while. She comes eating from my hand, loves to play with me, sleeps with me, always been that way. Why did she became more distant from me? I think that happened the day after I had a visitor at home, I mean, next day she'd runaway from my petting, rarely comes to my lap and to my bed... any ideas? Thanks
Answers:
Did you change any products you use on yourself, by any chance? Perfume, hair spray, shampoo even? If you have anything citrus-y on you, that might explain it. That's the easiest guess. Otherwise, I doubt it's the guest. Give her some time. Cats go through weird periods, sometimes they're friendly as hell, sometimes they need to withdraw a little (or a lot). They're a lot like humans that way. Don't take it personally, I'm sure she's not mad at you and she probably will go back to her normal self eventually. Otherwise, just give her space. Get her used to visitors too, if it WAS the visitor, she needs to realize you will have them every now and then. Get her used to anyone who might come to your place in the future. And again, don't worry too much about it. Cats are very strange creatures, who knows what goes on in her mind?? (by the way Rita is an awesome name, does she sing? :P)
Kittens go through emotional phases just like humans. She is getting into the stage where she tests the waters. I think she is just trying to gain independence. It seems like it happens overnight sometimes. You just have to love her for who she is and keep trying but don't force her. Just know that she still loves you but now prefers some more space.
How long ago did you have this visitor. She may have felt neglected. I think she will return to the way that she was. Cats can get in moods and sometime it takes a while for them to warm back up. I have a female cats that gets jealous very quickly and she will act the same way but she always eventually returns to the sweet cat that she is.
You also might try playing with her more, giving her cats treats or wet food to try to get her to warm up more quickly. Good Luck with everything!!

Whats wrong with my kitten?

Theres something wrong with Jake my 6 week old kitten - his brothers and sisters are fine. Yesterday he wasnt playing like normal and he's gone limp and cold. I took him to the vets and they injected water in him but its not done anything, I'm feeding him kitten milk every 2 hours by syringe, he cant walk and isnt meowing - anyone got any ideas? the vet said he will probably die : (
Answers:
Keep him warm firstly, get a hot water bottle, but make sure you cover it well with thick blanket, then place him on there. You're doing good by keep feeding him and the fact he wants to take milk still is good. Does that mean he isn't feeding from his own mother? Because there's no replacement for their own milk and being with his mother and the others might give him the will to live, he must not give up!!
If the vet injected water in him then he sounds like he's really dehydrated, maybe he needs to go back to the vets (or a different vet). He might need a shot of vitamins too or something, or glucose to stimulate him. My mum used to breed pedigree kittens and a couple of them did seem at deaths door but my mum never gave up hope and tried everything she could. It's tiring and upsetting. She even had one that had brain damage and couldn't walk but she kept with it even though the vet said it would die and it made a massive turn around and ended up fine!!. It's now got a loving home.
To sum up:
Keep feeding yourself if it's not feeding off mother
If mother is there keep kitten with her all the time
Keep kitten warm
Take back 2 vets - there's always something else they can do
Believe in yourself
ps. if the kitten does die then obviously you will feel sad but at least you will have done all you could
The absolute best of luck to you :o)
dont sound good
try and keep him warm
i feel sad, dont kno though
Try wrapping him in a blanket but he doesn't sound too good. Prepare for the worst :(
probably he inherited a sort of sickness from the mother because me myself i had a kitten who act the same as yours but at the end i found out that the mother kitten had a worm in her which was very harmful for the kittens and we didn't had any other solution but let them go..
Try giving him water rather than kitten milk to keep him hydrated. Have you got a specialist cat vet in your area? I would take him for a second opinion rather than give up, if another vet is says the same though - it might be kinder if you have him put to sleep, although I appreciate what a difficult decision that will be for you to make.
Look for blood in his/her stool, or urine, this would be a sign of internal bleeding, and possibly death. Other thing would be to see if kitty has any over the counter kitty medicines to add into that milk your feeling it. also check if it has worms...puss like oozing out of the corner of it's eye's, greenish/yellow colored, this could be a sign of infection. Good Luck
:o( Your doing everything you can. You could try the vet again. Poor mite. If he was the runt of the litter its quite common as they dont get to the food etc. Keep feeding him and loving him to give him the best chance.
Ooo that does not sound so good for your kitten. Have you been petting him when you feed him? Try gently massaging his legs and back to get his circulation going, but if he is still the same or worse tomorrow you should probably take him back to the vet. Is he losing weight? He may have eaten kitty litter. Is he using the litterbox? Pay attention to these things, so that you can tell the vet. Also, Is there a possibility that he could have gotten into something poisonous? Your vet may have a list of common household items that are toxic to cats.
I wish you luck, I know how miserable it can be whena pet is sick. Good luck to both of you.
try putting him on a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel with a blanket over him and continue with the kitty milk!
hope kitty is OK!
good luck!
Poppy!x
It looks like the vet did what he could for the kitten. KItten milk will continue to give him liquids. However, you need to believe what the vet is telling you. Sometimes for an unknown reason kittens just fade away. I believe this is called "failure to thrive" or "fading kitten syndrome". (I'm not a vet). No matter how much we want our little pets to live, there doesn't appear to be a lot we can do once their symptoms pass a certain point. When a kitten becomes ill, many times you don't notice until it is too late. One minute they're playing and running around and in the blink of an eye they're down and inactive. At least there is some comfort in knowing you did all you could. Sorry.
is he dead?
It defiantly sounds like a genetic problem possibly inherited from his mother. ill formed genes are recessive so this would explain why only Jake has been targeted.
i would recommend getting a second opinion because the vet, knowing he is that sick and injecting him with water should be keeping him at the vet clinic on a drip. He doesn't sound very professional.
The best you can do for now is to keep him comfortable, supplying a hot water bottle and giving him lots of cuddles is great, make sure he is loved, because love will defiantly make him more strong willed.
I know it sounds bad, but if he gets any worse, have you considered euthanasia. don't let him suffer if there is no chance of recovery.
Ask the vet to hospitalise him, I know sometimes natural selection steps in and takes the ones that might not be properly form, or that are naturally weaker but if you keep your vet on it he wil have the best chance possible.
If mum wint feed him and pushes him out thats a worse sign but you can still hand rear.
If your vet seems uncaring try another one or if in uk ring cats protection league for advice.
Oh, and do get the others checked out.
Your kitten is dehydrated and the reason the vet injected water was to rehydrate the kitten you must keep feeding the milk to the kitten and make sure its kitten fomula most important as it also needs the nutrients.Usually a dehyrated kitten cant meow just keep feeding the milk to him and he will comearound.this happened to 3 of my kittens when my son took his cats here and mother cat stopped feeding them so keep doing what ur doing.Hopefully he will come around.
aww is he the runt one?
My Boy was the runt and he survived. Just keep him warm and hydrated he may survive.
Good luck

Whats Wrong With My Cats Eyes? And How Can I Help?

ok.. today it is hot outside and my cat went out of a little and when it came back its eyes like at the right bottom its like little covers or flaps or sumtin like covering some of its eye and it can get it down and it affecting its vision a little.. HOW CAN I GET THOUSE THINGS DOWN SO ITS EYES WILL BE NORMAL AGAIN?!?!?!
Answers:
Don't worry, this is completely normal.
These are called the "third eyelids" and they go over the eye to moisturize them. When cats get sleepy and their lids get heavy, these come up.
But if they are always like this, your cat may have lost some of the reflex. Your cat could also be suffering from a disease or sickness caused by the heat. As usual, take to the vet to be sure if it doesn't clear up.
That's a nicitaning membrane, like crocodiles have.
It shouldn't be that bad, but if it stays down for too long, talk to your vet. It might need to be removed.
okay, cats actually have two sets of eyelids, to see the secondary eyelid is a sign of distress in your cat. She may be suffering from a heat related illness. Try to get her to drink some cold water, and put her in a nice, cool room. If she won't take the water, call the vet immediately, don't fool around with this, okay?
it is called a third eye lid there is nothing wrong with the cat.my cat had it and in about a week or so it will be back to normal . hope it helps.

Whats Wrong With My Cat??

I recently bought some cats from a lady who lives on a farm, And the kitten sneezes all the time and I think coughs a little and when she sneezes boogers fly out of her nose. She also has a little bit of drainage from her eyes. Do cats catch colds and if so will this go away on its own like humans do?? Please any advice will help.
Answers:
You might wanna take the kitten to the vet, this might help ya
http://www.kittencare.com/askkc_sneezing...

hope the kitty feels better!
no, i dont think so because you know i have a dog and he sneezes alot and nothing is wrong with him!!!
take her to the vet immediatly!! cat colds are different than people colds and something could be seriously wrong. i hope they feel better soon.
My kitten had the same exact thing when we first bought her.
The vet told me it was a viral infection, but there was nothing that could be done for it,a nd it would just go away on its own.
and shes fine now. :]
I wouldnt worry too much about it, its a kitten so its getting used to its environment. Just keep an eye on her and if things dont get better go to Petco or something and get help there. Good Luck!
the cat may have allergies and you should take it to the vet to get medicine for it
sounds like they have a cold . i would recommend taken them to the vet.
it might have an allergy.
but cats sneeze from time to time.
show ur vet.
vets know best *!*
It sounds like your cat may have some type of upper respiratory infection. Don't expect it to go away on it's own. Get her checked out to determine which type of infection she has and what treatment would best be suited to heal her.
And know that colds in cats are an entirely different matter than in humans. If left untreated, they can easily kill them. This comes from my own experience in which one of my 4 cats developed such a condition and almost died from it.
The vet told me that it was just a simple cold, but that if I hadn't treated her that it could be fatal. I also had to follow-up with care for my other 3 cats because it was also HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS. I nearly lost them all, their temperature was so high and they were so sick.
Don't wait to take the kitten to the vet.
ok listen to me very carfully. Idk wut the symtoms are but you have got to google it RIGHT now! EMERGENCY. I sure do hope ur cats have gotten their shots because right now there is a DEADLY disease carried by cyotes! i just got 2 puppies 1 week ago and they are 11 weeks old. they are not allowed to take walks or anything for another 2 1/2 months b/c they have to get their shots and if they pick up the disease they will die. i hope ur cats got their shots. if they didnt google this right now and call ur vet.
it could be a cold, which is caused by a virus, or it could be an upper respiratory infection, caused by bacteria, you can not tell the difference, only a vet can. And even if it is a cold, a lot of times they will get a secondary bacterial infection, and you're back to upper respiratory infection. URI's need to be treated with antibiotics, you can only get these at your vets. Sounds to me like your kitten has an URI, all the discharge is bad.
Oh stop being so cheap and take that kitten to a VET!! You KNOW it's the right thing to do -- and not waste time asking unqualified strangers on the internet. Such advice costs nothing and could actually be harmful. To the VET!!
It is your pet's RIGHT BY LAW to receive proper medical care and to deny it is abuse. If you can't or won't get your pet to a vet and provide responsible care, then you have no right to have one.
If possible, I would take your cat to the vet. It sounds like she may have an upper respiratory infection.
Yep, cats get upper respiratory infections. Since they are viruses, there is no medication for it, you just have to make sure your kitty is getting food and water. Many vets, though, will give an antibiotic to prevent secondary infections, so I would take your kitty to the vet to get checked over. Good luck
Upper respiratory infections are common in cats; many are minor but some can be quite serious. The presence of 'boogers' suggests a bacterial infection, which should be treated. If it's a 'farm' cat there's a good chance it hasn't been vaccinated an de-wormed; it sounds stable so you don't have to rush out tonight but have a veterinarian check it as soon as possible. It might be good to check the other cats as well. I hope you didn't pay too much for unvaccinated and possibly sick animals...
Is the kitten vaccinated? Cats do get colds and can have allergies. Get her to the vet as soon as you can and make sure she is drinking and eating.

Whats wrong with my cat??

My one year old cat has been acting very mean lately. My other cat had kittens and she trys to bite them, and she hisses at me and my family. What is the matter with her?
Answers:
The first step should be to get her checked out by a veterinarian. Displaying unusual, aggressive behavior can be a sign of pain.
Honestly i think she might be jealous! lol my cat did that when one of my friends cats had kittens n we baby sitted them
with new animals in the family the cats probably feel like they r competeing for your love and affection, and as for the one year old cat, that is acting mean have her checked out at a vet to make sure nothing is wrong or if anything is bugging her.
Maybe your cat just wants to be left alone, cats are very much to themselves and they come to you when they feel like it. One might just leave them alone. She might be geleous of the other cat with kittens so keep them away from her for a while until she gets used to them. I think I'm not an expert in animals but as I was growing up we always had a cat or a dog in the house and I learned some of their behavior. I love cats, dogs and birds.
Good Luck!
She's feeling neglected. With all of the kittens, there's most likely no time, or less time for you to spend with her. She's just jealous. Try spending more time with her, alone without the kittens or other cats. It's just like with kids. When a baby is brought home to a child who has been by themselves for so long, they feel like they need to compete for your attention.
She might have an undisclosed ailment. Call a vet and tell them the symptoms. They will let you know wheather to take your cat in or not.

What's wrong with my cat?

She regularly and consistently licks her own cooch (private area below butt). She is a 3 year old spayed female, gray and white. Her cooch area is white as well (normally). For the last month or so, the hair around that area has been blackish looking. Could that be caused by excessive saliva? Anyone have any ideas as to what can be causing her to lick there so much? Other than the strange licking and black looking hair, she seems perfectly happy and healthy. She is overweight too, probably 16-18 lbs.
I obviously plan to take her to the vet so telling me I should do so is unnecessary. Just trying to get some ideas.
Answers:
Maybe diabetes. Don't know really just a guess but diabetes would cause more sugar in the urine that could be irritating her.
Or she could have crystals or stones in her urine.
The darker hair could be from blood in the urine.
It's a shame that you are a irresponsible pet owner it may be a infection you need to give her a bath and take her to the vet you are too cheap to take her why have a animal if you are so cheap that you can't spend 50.00 to get her checked out?
thats normal
normally when animals lick themselves the hair turns a brownish-red color, not black. Perhaps she has a urinary tract infection or crystals in her urine causing irritation. Have you noticed any changes in her bathroom habits? (going outside the box, going more frequently than normal, seeming painful, urinating only small amounts, blood in the urine). Both of these would need to be treated by a vet,
Altered cats seem to be more susceptible to urinary crystallization. That means she's probably got a mild block in her urinary track. It's not uncommon at all. Nothing serious unless you let it go untreated. She should go to the Dr. soon. Other wise she'll start peeing in hidden places out of spite. Always make sure she has clean water %26 make sure you wash the bowl out { no slimy stuff in the bottom.} Good Luck.

What's wrong with my cat?

I have a 3 year old cat that has been acting strange lately. Sometimes, randomly, he'll squint his eyes, turn his head, and clean himself. Meanwhile, his back will be twitching. Does anybody know what's wrong? My aunt thought it might be a flea, so my mom got flea medicine, but he's still doing it. Do you think it could be neurological? I don't know if it's serious or not.
Answers:
It could still be fleas. There are some flea medacines that kill only the live fleas but not the eggs and the eggs will hatch every week or so. So to ensure that it is gone permenantly the best bet would be to have a vet administer or get from a vet flea medacine. Thier stuff kills live and eggs.
I don't think that it is neurological, my two cats do the same and it is only when they have fleas. After we bathe them and give them the medacine that goes away.
Did you flea comb him back there?
What kind of flea meds did you mom give him?
Frontline for Cats is best. IMHO -- you get that from the vet.
If he continues to lick lick lick, take him to the vet
Possible might also be a food allergy
wanit a few more days and then take him 2 the vet
If its not fleas...Did a drastic change happen in your cat's life? That's the only thing I could think of that might make him act this way. Keep in mind that animals can see things that we cant.
I would say flees
PETT YOUR p .u .s .s .y cat more
It very well could be neurological! My mom`s cat does that - and ends up licking patches of hair off his sides and belly - and runs around the house with his back twitching. My mom`s vet ended up giving him something that calms him down and he has completely stopped this behaviour. My mom was able to ween him off this medication for 2 years but then she had some work done to her house, which apparently caused him some distress such that she had to put him back on the meds. These meds don`t change his spirit, just his licking-scratching behaviour. I would suggest going to the vet and asking about it. Unfortunately I don`t know the name of the drug BUT there definately is something out there for them. We had another cat when I was growing up that exhibited the same behaviour as well. Our vets at the time didn`t know of the pill that my mom has for her cat now so if you run into a vet who doesn`t know, I would just ask another.
good luck!
well my cat does that sometimes but i don't really worry it might just be like scratching.like if he kinda bites while doing it that is probably it...if your really worried take him to the vet.But you shouldn't worry too much.(=^.^=)
He could have skin rashes.
Or he could be allergic to something and he is trying to sneeze but for some reason he can't.
Also he might have epilepsy.
And he is having a seizer

Whats wrong with my cat?

My 9 year old cat won't drink anything. She hasnt been drinking from her water dish for weeks as far as i know. I keep changing her water and she still won't drink it. Today she walked up to it, looked at it, and walked away. So I got her some milk. my cat LOVES milk. She took one sip, sat down staring at it, then walked away. I'm worried that she isnt drinking anything and its 95 degress out. do you think shes ok?
Answers:
NO, she is not okay. These sound like the symptoms of a serious bladder infection. Don't waste your time with the amateurs here, get her to a vet NOW.
ur cat may already be dehydrated so thats why she isnt drinking ..id watch her for awhile and if u dont see her drink throughout the whole day i would call a vet just in case
better safe then sorry
she is drinking, just not that you see. if it has been weeks since she had a drink, she would be dead. even after a few days she probably wouldn't make it. maybe she just doesn't like to be watched.
It may be numerous things ranging from just constipation, to obstruction of the intestines, to some metabolic disease involving the kidneys, etc. This is a situation requiring veterinary assistance. Because too many days without eating and drinking will lead to dehydration and cause many other problems other than what she already has. Please see your vet ASAP.
I agree...get her to a vet...don't waste time!
Sounds like she is having some sort of bladder issue. You should bring her into the vet asap. My friend's cat did the same thing, and his bladder ended up rupturing. Don't take that chance.
It sounds like your cat is sick. You may try moving the water away from near her food and don't put it near the cat box. If it is an outdoor cat she is probably getting water outside.
Have you tried turning the bathroom tap on at a drip? Our cats will drink from their bowl, but they prefer it even fresher.
But if she truly is not drinking at all, then there is a problem. Meanwhile, don't give her cow's milk: That will give her diarrhea.
Good luck!
My Aunt used to leave the bath tub water on a very small but steady stream of water and her cats would stick their paws in the water and drink it.
Some cats like privacy
others don't.
My cat had thyroid problems and he had to be given water through a small eye dropper clean from the farmicy-I am not saying your kitten has thyroid problems but you could go ask your farmicy for an eye dropper-explain your situation though or they might think u r trying to steal.
ask for two. when u get home fill it half way depending on the size of the dropper. and slowly put the water in his/her mouth. USE COLD WATER!
well anyways-
Good luck!

Whats wrong with my cat?

my cat is 4 weeks pregnant and today she wouldn't leave me alone she wanted me to be with her at all time she made me follow her to her bed and the when i petted her she puts her head on my hand and closes her eyes, the second i leave her she meows and follows me then when i stay with her she cleans her bottom and then turns back and forth to lay down could she be in any pain? should i take her to the vet

Awwww so cute.... Get a large cardboard box ready, with da flaps cut off %26 lined with soft blanket or towel. Cut 1 side of it down until about 8" of cardboard is still intact, so when dey get big enough to make it over da 8" wall dey will be ready to do their own thing without mama. Find good homes %26 goodluck!
Yes, because it is pregnant and will give possibly soon birth it hurts and she wants you to massage or whatever to make her more comfortable. That's my guess. Good luck to you and your cat!
Ususally cat do one of two things when they are pregnant. THey either get really nasty and hiss/ scratch at you...or they become overly lovey. If she is okay will you feeling her stomach and being around you and just wants to be loved on chances are it just her hormones acting crazy and she is craving some closeness. But if she is meowing more whne you touch her chances are she may need to go to the vet. Also are you positive she is only 4 weeks pregnant? Because if she is farther along it could also be a sign of the begining of labor. Either way if you are worried I would give the vet a call and atleast tell them you worries and they will know better if she needs to go in.
Are you completely sure how far along she is? I had a cat that was acting like that when she was in labor. Here are a couple cat websites that might be of some help.
I hope this helps.
She's having pains...!
Should make her a little nest where she can give birth.
Be sure to be there when she has them, you are like a bestfriend to her. If you're not she might be weird like my cat, no one was home when she had them and she avoided us and evil eyed us when we visited her in my brother's dresser, lol. I don't think going to the vet is necessary, but if u want to, u can.

Whats wrong with my cat?

The past two days my one cat (who we think has psychological problems) has had dilated eyes. It's pretty freaky. She's always been a bit 'off' to say the least and I was wondering what is going on with her eyes.
no new foods, she is fixed and lives outdoors, she has plenty of fresh water to drink, no other cats pick on her.
She's just messed up looking.
help!

It's a *****.
If its just about the way she looks, I wouldn't worry about it tooo much. If she starts acting funny, a vet visit would be advised.
she might have neurotic issues which you might get checked out by the vet. otherwise you should find out if there are any poisenous plants around that she could eat (which would explain dialated pupils)
vet help is needed here!!
Sure she hasn't got into anything. Like household products?
Catnip maybe? any new pets, plants or people in the house? Could be stress, eating something like soap or some other substance.
Your pet's eyes are very sensitive to changes in light. The middle part of the eye, called the pupil, is constantly in motion, opening and closing to let in the correct amount of light.
Sometimes, however, the pupils stay open regardless of the amount of light they are receiving. This condition, called dilated pupils, nearly always means that something is seriously wrong. "When one or both eyes dilate in good light, your pet could have something wrong with the nerves connected to the eyes or in the brain or the eye itself," says Erika de Papp, D.V.M., a veterinarian at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia.
Nerves are responsible for sensing how much light is reaching the eye and for relaying the message to (and from) the brain, which instructs the eye to make the proper adjustments. When a nerve is damaged or under pressure because of an infection, for instance, or a growing tumor, the eye may not receive the necessary messages and may fail to work properly, explains Dr. de Papp. A swelling in the brain, which can happen following a blow to the head, can also press on the nerves controlling the pupil.
A fairly common condition called glaucoma, in which fluids accumulate in the eye, can also cause the pupil to stay dilated. (Other symptoms of glaucoma may include teariness, redness, or cloudiness of the eye.)
Pets that eat toxic substances such as antifreeze can also develop dilated eyes. If you suspect that your pet has swallowed poison, get her to the vet right away.
In cats, dilated pupils may be caused by a diet of raw fish. Fish contains an enzyme called thiaminase that destroys thiamin, a vitamin necessary for good vision, says Paul M. Gigliotti, D.V.M., a veterinarian in private practice in Mayfield Village, Ohio. In addition, cats given mainly milk or vegetarian diets may become deficient in an amino acid called taurine, which is essential for keeping the retinas healthy. When taurine levels fall, the eyes may dilate.
See Your Vet If...
You suspect that your pet has gotten into poisonous substances like antifreeze
Her eyes are red, cloudy, or teary
Your cat eats raw fish or is on a vegetarian diet
Your pet won't quit scratching or pawing his eyes
His eyes have turned blue, gray, or cloudy, or he is having trouble getting around
His eyes are frequently bloodshot or dry
There has been a watery or discolored discharge from the eyes for 48 hours or more
Your pet's eyes are bulging
The eyelids are swollen or unable to close
There is a growth on the eye or eyelid
One or both pupils are dilated, or they don't respond to light
Your pet seems very sensitive to light
The eyes are droopy or sunken
The third eyelids are covering the lower parts of the eyes
His eyes are continually moving back and forth
Blood or tiny blood vessels are visible in the center (not the whites) of his eyes
His eyelid appears to be turned inward or outward

At least some of these warning signs apply to your pet (possibly.) You need to take her to the vet. ASAP.
Hey..im not to sure but i think it might be cat knip..if u had any lying around your house or if u have her some..she will look high..lol its like a drug to cats. but if it isnt that hten u should take her to a vet..my cat did this one and it was cat knip..so look around and see if and was lyning around the house.. =) well good luck with your cat.
there are a number of plants that are hazardous to cats.. some toxic if ingested..
Also someone could of left out chemicals and your cat could of gotten into them or trash..
take your cat to the vet and be sure!
My cat did this too, I took him to the vet and he told me that cats are very sensitive to their surroundings. We had moved into our new apartment and it turned out that he was reacting to the basement floor paint...cause his litter box was down there. Your cat might be reacting to a type of varnish or something in your house. Anything new done recently? I followed him around a bit and pin-pointed it to the basement, moved his litter box and hes been fine ever since.
i think its time for a vet's visit... btw you know whats freaky? your avatar=] its kinda scary.
You say she lives outdoors. It could be she got into something like antifreeze. Get her to the vet already!
Persistent pupillary dilation could indicate a whole range of neural (brain) and ophthalamic (eye) problems, including that of Horner's syndrome.
Sounds like your kitty is desperately in need of a fundic (eye) exam from your veterinarian. The eye exam would provide hints to what is wrong with your cat, especially since you say that it's got a history of "psychological" problems.
Good luck!
your cat may have ingested (eaten) something while she was outside that could cause dilation.a poisoned mouse or rat that was consumed before it died is a possibility or may have suffered a head injury. then again you may be observing her when she is in "hunt" mode. the eye dilates to take in as much information as possible on the prey (imagined) or not. in any event if you are worried take her to your vet.
my first cat did the same thing. then she wasn't eating or drinking. brought her to the vet and found out she had liver cancer and had to be put down. we found out the her eyes were dialated because she had gone blind. bring your cat to the vet before it is too late. be prepared for a big bill though. but if you want to save your kitty, no price is too large. some vets even do payment plans

Whats wrong with my cat?

she acts lethargic---tired, weak, dosnt want to move, she has slept for the majority of 2 days
shes not hungry
Please dont just tell me to bring her to the vet, i know that part. I just want to know whats wrong. Thanks so much!!
Answers:
Obiously your cat is sick and needs to be seen by a vet. If you know that part, why are you waiting? You can't possibly expect a bunch of strangers to diagnose what a vet would see. These signs are signals for a number of very serious conditions and diseases. Get her to a vet a.s.a.p. and don't waste any more time on the internet.
Sorry to not follow what you said or be rude but your vet can tell you what's wrong.
I hope your cat will be ok!
Is there any chance she could've ingested anti freeze?
Sounds like a infection of some sort.Better get her to the vet, cats are quite delicate and can go down fast.
Anything could be wrong with your cat. She could be tired and weak, because her body is fighting off infection and she needs her rest, if she's sick she's not going to want to move much, and when we are sick we sleep often too. And if we are sick with a stomach flu, we don't like to eat either. By your description of symptoms, your cat could have anything. I know you don't want to hear this, but you should just bring her to the vet. That way they could run tests for infectious diseases, broken bones, and other possibilities.
maybe she is just aging.
have you done any major changes in your household lately that could have stressed her out (moved, gotten some new pets, etc)?
have you changed her food to a new brand (maybe that's why she doesn't want to eat it)?
Is this a sudden change? Was she really frisky and upbeat before?
There are lots of things that could be wrong. Is she using the litter box? Making a mess outside the litterbox? Eating, pee-ing, and pooping are good signs.
Usually when an animal is lethargic and not hungry, it's something serious - cancer, kidney disease, poisoning. Get your cat to the vet right away, and be prepared that there's a chance it will be extremely expensive to make her better - and you might have to put her down. I'm sorry.
It can be so many things. Did you kitty get into anything? How old is your cat? There is such a wide variety of things that it could be. So I am going to say what you don't want to hear, but I would take it to a vet. If money is an issue talk with the Humane Society in your area. They might be able to help. I hope that all goes well with you cat.
Could it be the temputure.? Has she been around other cats? Has she been wormed lately? Have you rearranged furniture or some other change, Is she old.?
It could be a wide array of things. Those are just telltale signs that your cat isn't feeling well.
In fact, once I called my vet's office to ask some advice. All I told the receptionist was that I didn't think my cat was feeling well and she recited all those symptoms you typed. If it's been two days you really need to just suck it up and taker her to the doctor.
maybe she has cancer or needs to be put to sleep, but i
don't know your cat so I can't help.
Could be diabetes, try giving her a little treat with sugar or some mountain dew, like a cap of it. If that seems to pep her up its probably that. If so, you need to go ahead to he vet so they can get her on some medications.
I THINKI ITS GONNA DIE
There could be any number of things wrong with her and you need to get her to the vet as soon as possible. Call them first thing in the morning and explain the symptoms and get her to them as soon as you can. If it's already gone on for two days, there may have been a lot more damage done than you know.
Good luck!!

Whats wrong with my cat?

hes been fixed but has only had kitten shots a couple days ago he threw up in our bathroom and then later in the night threw up in our other bathroom then he hides under beds and couches u=i have not seen him eat or drink and when he tries to jump up onto something like a counter he goes nowhere but getting his front paws up
Answers:
We recently lost the most beloved cat we ever had. We still count the days since she left us. Her symthoms (spelling?)were exactly as you described and it was kidney failure. Loss of appetite, failure to drink, hiding in the dark and weakness. I waited too long to take her to the vet and that is a regret that I have to live with. I urge you to bring your kitten back to the vet immediately as the kidneys do not last long with body dealing with starvation I was told. I would recommend you try to keep him hydrated with beef broth or water (not milk although it wouldn't hurt) with an eye dropper until you can take him to the vet.
He may be having a reaction to the vaccine. Call the vet ASAP.
Usually when your cat gets fixed he will be very lethargic, weak, and wobbly several days after. When I got my cat spayed, she acted drunk for several days after. The vomiting may be a reaction to meds, anesthetic, or dizziness. My cat will throw up every once in a while because she eats too fast then drinks water right after that causeing her to vomit. A lot of cats do this. But just to be on the safe side, call the vet and ask them what they think. Talk to them, they will know what to do so you don't have to worry about it. Good luck.
My kitten was really woozy for a day or so after he had all his shots - he barely opened his eyes, and ate hardly anything. He isolated himself a fair bit, but managed to get himself together after about a day.
I'd give the vet a quick call, and just find out if there's anything wierd about what he's doing, or if there's any way to help him out with eating/getting some water. And jump on it quicksmart, as you don't want him getting dehydrated through it all!
