Welcome to the world of wild animals. Cats are generally nocturnal, %26 yours is reverting to half wild...not sure you can change that. You will probably make it frustrated if you keep it in at night, but you may have to.
she's reached maturity! basically a cat is in its prime at about 18 months-2 years. this is similar to teenagers during puberty. Like with teenagers, your cat will be out exploring places that previously seemed scary to her. dont worry, all cats go through this and eventually, when she realises she is better off at home, she'll calm down x
Is she spayed? If not its very possible she's in heat, which would explain the long absences.
Keep her indoors and you won't have to worry about it. It is dangerous to let your cat out because she could get hit by a car, attacked by other cats and dogs or worse. Roaming cats are also a threat to the native bird population. I live in NJ and we are having a problem with cats killing a rare species of pipping plover.
Hope your cat is fixed or you'll have little kittens . The wold doesn't need any more. That is normal. I have my cat trained I always call him to come in around 10 pm. . He's a good boy he comes in before it;s even time...Best of luck. Call your cat loudly!
well don't let her outside at night. If u have a kitty door or something she uses to go outside without u letting her out then block it and keep her in for the night.Maybe she'll sleep and then during the day she'll be awake and then just let her out ONLY in ur yard and then make her come back in after like 20 minutes. If ur yard is not fenced in then get a leash and tie it to a tree or something so she can't go out onto the road.Cause at night that could be very dangerous! She could get run over or hit! u never know what some drivers just can't see.Ur cat could be the next target! watch out! bye :D
Yes if you haven't spayed the cat you certainly should. It may be that she's searching for a mate.
But cats are nocturnal, so the going out all night and sleeping during the day is completely normal.
What I've noticed with my two cats, however, is that in time they seem to adjust to their human's schedule. Meaning she may eventually prefer to sleep in the house at night with you.
if you havent spayed her i would go to the vet and first check to make sure she is not pregnant and then spay her. she could be in heat or pregnant.
or if she is spayed, she could just be matured.
